Stay Safe This Summer with 3C-Certified LEDs!

With the recent nationwide heatwave, fire incidents caused by low-quality LED lightboxes and signage have become frequent. Without 3C certification, some inferior LEDs suffer from poor heat dissipation and aging circuits under high temperatures, leading to short circuits or fires—damaging signage at best, or igniting surrounding buildings at worst.

1️⃣ 3C Certification — Your Safety Baseline

3C certification ensures that everything from power drivers to enclosure materials meets strict flame-retardant and electrical safety standards. Choose LEDs with mandatory 3C certification, and also consider recognized safety and efficiency marks such as CQC, CE, and UL.

2️⃣ Flame-Retardant Materials — Prevent Self-Ignition

Critical LED components made from low-quality materials can overheat, age faster, deform, or even catch fire. Tests show that at 30°C ambient temperature, the casing of low-quality LED bulbs can reach 65–70°C—20–25°C higher than comparable halogen lamps—melting nearby components.

3️⃣ Electrical Safety — Avoid Circuit Risks

Poor or non-standard circuit design can easily lead to short circuits or overloads, producing sparks or excessive heat, creating hidden fire hazards.

4️⃣ Proper Power Matching — No False Ratings

LED design must follow proper power matching principles to avoid overload risks (fuse failure rates can reach 39%). Alternatively, use high-efficiency chips to replace high-power designs. For example, CREE LEDs with >150LM/W can achieve the brightness of a traditional 400W sodium lamp with only 120W—reducing both energy use and heat.
